Munnar Trip

Munnar in Kerala is a pleasure to visit especially for a Honeymoon trip or short trip of 1 week or less.

First you have to decide what all places you want to visit. the package prices are negotiable. You can use official kerala tourism website to plan your itenary as well. For that you need to create a userid first.

Munnar is a hill station with tea plantations, spices. So don't forget to pick up some special tea and spices from Munnar. On the way to Munnar, you find so many natural water falls with fresh water.
Apart from that you find lot of Ayurvedic centers. People in Kerala, grow and maintain special gardens for preparing Ayurvedic medicines. You can visit any garden, though its a charged trip.(usually 100 or so).
Near by Munnar, there are so many places to see: Mattupetti dam, echo point, wild life sanctuaries. You can find boating near Mattupetti dam: peddling and speed boats. We took Speed boat, trust me you'll enjoy that.

Thekkady has biggest wild life sanctuary. In the wild life sanctuary also, there is a boat ride. You should be lucky enough to see the animals though.

Allepy is famous for its houseboat. Its like a miniature house on water. you get all the amenities like special room, A/C and food. For people who eat Non-veg, you can try out the fish of Kerala.

There a number of resources on the internet. So first make a list of the places, then decide where to go.

I'll tell the details of my travel : Oct 1st to 5th, 2008
5 days and 4 nights ( 1st and 5th are just pick up and drops)
places visited : Munnar, Thekkady and Allepy (House Boat).

Hotel acco usually charged in terms of some 3-star, 4-star and 5-star ratings. But the agent I went had a new style of tariff : Deluxe, Super Deluxe.

But we should ask the agent what they mean: in terms of amenities like AC/fan (even though munnar is a cool place).

for me he charged 18K (excluding food)-- for 2 people

As per our agreement he had to provide Super Deluxe acco, but it didn't look like that.(So that's why you have to ask him what amenities are there for acco).
